Local housing developer Hills Homes, has donated an area of meadowland near Witney town centre to West Oxfordshire District Council.
The newly acquired land covers 0.92 acres and is adjacent to Hills Homes’ Bishop’s Farm Mill development off Witan Way.
Councillor Jeanette Baker said: “The open spaces along the River Windrush are a defining characteristic of the town and fit in with our strategy of maintaining accessible green areas in and around Witney.”
Bishop’s Farm Mill in Witney is comprised of seven exclusive apartments in a stylish mill conversion with picturesque views across meadowland and the River Windrush. This is a rejuvenation of 19th-century Bishop’s Farm Mill.
As the largest town in West Oxfordshire with a population of 25,000, Witney is a great place to shop with an impressive array of independent traders and stylish boutique shops complemented by more familiar high street brands in modern shopping centres. Every Thursday and Saturday the Market Square bustles with shoppers and market traders, whilst a monthly Friday farmers’ market brings delicious local produce into the heart of the town.
The award-winning Hills Homes has established a strong reputation for building high-quality homes on carefully selected sites. From bespoke country homes on the edge of sought-after villages to major urban developments, Hills brings individual quality to each of its developments.
